Costa Rica has opened their doors to all leisure travelers including Americans. There are of course a few requirements and surprisingly it does not include getting a COVID-19 test, though it’s always best practice to take one before you travel.

That’s it! Pretty simple and easy. There are several local medical insurance companies listed on Costa Rica’s Tourism website. Travel Insurance typically have Emergency Medical Coverage and it’s best to consult with your travel insurance provider to ensure it is the correct coverage to enter the Costa Rica.
